"Decay" is the first single from the debut album by matka. The hookline was first created for a video installation. The raven featured in the lyrics is derived from Greek mytology and witnesses our relationship to the world and it's inevitable cycle of rise, decay and new beginnings. Nothing evades transformation, but life is essentially new beginnings.

Decay

Blue Lagoon. Holiday resort. A man suddenly disapears on a boat trip with his wife and boy. The search continues for days but the man remains gone. I imagine him, still alive, at at the bottom of the sea, the fish are his friends. 
A year later. The widow returns to the holiday resort to remember her lost husband and the father of her child.
