Junior students in Mr. Smith's Write for College class at Maryknoll School in Honolulu, were given the task of creating their own TheMoth.org-style StorySLAM.  

For two weeks students studied some of the "true stories told live" on TheMoth.org. These mentor texts provided in writing instruction and inspiration.  

After, students then spent two weeks drafting and revising their stories.  The forth of their personal narratives were told and recorded in front of an audience of their peers.
