'Take me Down to the Apricorns' is about feeling overwhelmed and escaping reality through your own fantasies. The song begins with a soundscape and vocalist outlining the melody which uses pentatonic material. The soundscape morphs and builds suspense until finally exploding into full orchestration. The melody comes back, this time with a driving rhythm. The purpose of the recapitulated material in the second half of the song is to paint a more joyous outlook on escapism. Everyone escapes into fantasy and there is beauty in escaping communally.

La Da Da Yeah is, ultimately, a song about saying “fuck it”. I wrote it at a time where there was a lot going wrong in my life that I felt powerless to change. I ultimately just had to smile through it and try to have fun even though I knew I was being a little willfully ignorant. The song sounds upbeat but it’s also a list of terribly hurtful things and the more hurtful things I list, the more upbeat the song gets. I know I’m not alone in feeling this way. I wrote this song, not just as my own outlet, but so that we can all commiserate together.
