The Boy and the Sea is a five movement concert piece for orchestra. The First and Last movements are short introduction and conclusion pieces while the middle three movements carry the bulk of the development. The Movements follow the story of a boy who goes out to sea and is caught in a violent storm where he loses his life. There are three recurring melodies between pieces for the boy, the sea, and the storm. The first two are first heard in the intro, while the storm theme is introduced in the third movement. Each movement begins with a choral of the sea theme, and ends with the accompanying piano "waves" or "tides" of the sea theme. This is supposed to exemplify that the sea is a passive character, which despite the violence of the storm or the tragedy of the boy, is ever flowing and ceaseless in its rhythm.

Wings is a track I wrote for a small indie game, Grief. It is the only music in the game and plays when the player reaches the acceptance stage of mourning. As such, it is meant to be somewhat somber and reflective, yet still majestic and uplifting.

This is a trailer style track for a solo project I am working on of the same title. The guitar melody at the beginning was the first thing I wrote, before coming up with the main theme which plays in the last section with the whole orchestra.

Moonlight is a jazz arrangement of a guitar song that I wrote. It is written for quite a large group, but with a kind of combo feel to it.

Felt Piano and Several Synths were used to make this dark and moody track. Same recording setup and and instruments as the relaxing piece, Sunlight and Snowdrifts.

Myopia

Lilac Sun is a track composed from a set of one shot drums and synthesizers. The inspiration was late 90's to early 20's pop and it kind of morphed into a more synthwave techno kind of sound. The Structure is set up like a kind of a rock or metal song with chorus-verse-chorus-verse-solo-chorus. Its a high tempo good workout style song.

Lilac Sun

Flux is a hybrid rock/metal and synth electronic song. It starts with some synth bells playing the main theme before getting into the first verse. The verses are jams with cinematic drum and basslines throughout with some synths playing melodies. This "flux"tuates into a rock bridge which changes tempo and time. We go back to the chorus which is in the original tempo and time and has the synths up front with the rock elements supporting. The second phrase is much longer and written as a kind of trance jam with the bass and drums consistently going while other parts come in and out. A guitar comes into to transition back towards the rock bridge which this time features twin guitars on the melody. A second round of the chorus is the same and a reprise with a guitar solo finishes out the piece.

Flux

I started this as a track for the acoustic guitar. While noodling around, I was inspired by some muted plucked rhythms which open the tune. From there I wrote the melody and jammed with a bunch of different kinds of drums. It really came together pretty quickly and I added the soprano sax melodies on as one of the last things. Its kind of jazzy, kind of cinematic, kind of rock. Its kind of a lot of things, but mostly just fun.

This is a track based on a something I wrote for a game that didnt end up getting used. I had the sketch sitting around for several years now and finally decided to finish it up. Its kind of a battle style or cinematic track. I might end up writing a mini album based on some of the ideas here.

This is a a tune that is based on about 50 second riff I recorded about 10 years ago. Im going back and trying to flesh out some ideas from my past. This is also my first major work mixing orchestra and choir with metal guitars and drums, so let me know how you think it works.

This track is from the OST for the steam game HTD. This track was written last, as the theme track for the project. As such, it is an overarching representation of the music and the mood of the game.

1 - The Great Contortion

Every year I start to write a Christmas or wintery song and never finish. This Year I have finished. I wanted a song that had a snowy bleak wintery feel, that was also still very beautiful and relaxing. 
I started writing with just a piano tune, which I doodled a cello solo overtop of. I also knew that I wanted string hairpins as a primary textural component of the piece. I wrote several different melodies and phrases before singing one in my head over and over again, which became the main theme of the piece. The hairpins are present in almost every part of the song which gives the melody a swelling undulating trajectory to an ultimate climax before relaxing a touch to the restatement of the beginning of the piece. I began with the idea for a piano song the ebbs and flows as the melody plays, and the overall arc of the piece ebbs and flows until it returns back to the piano.
