A few years after the Roman demolition of the second Jewish Temple. Shimon Bar Eshbol finds himself trapped under Roman siege as a young man. The piece follows Shimon's life under siege leading to the capture of the desert fort by the Roman legion. After the Romans finally break into the fort after months of siege they discover the gruesome truth.  The Jewish rebel warriors and their families committed mass suicide rather than face defeat and enslavement.
