Benzene Ring

I reimagined the iconic opening of R. Strauss’s tone poem ‘Also sprach Zarathustra’ as a piece of electronic music. This piece of music was used as the opening of a physical theater piece by Nicole van den Berg and Suzan Stouthart. During that scene, a potato was gracefully baptized in dish soap foam.

This one encapsulates a specific period in my life when I was living in a relatively remote old farmhouse for a period of about one year. It was a scenic and beautiful place with a special feeling attached to it.

With this track I mean to illustrate the madness of war, and to voice my support for the brave soldiers fighting the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The speeches you hear in this track are Putin announcing the 'special military operation' in February 2022, and Prigozhin asking the Russian Ministry of Defence where the f'ing ammo is in May 2023.
