Over the years “My Funny Valentine” has become one of the most recorded and performed song in history. The range and depth of artists who have recorded this masterpiece is almost endless and includes iconic artists such as Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Bill Evans, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Ella Fitzgerald.

For Heaven’s Sake was composed by Sherman Edwards, Donald Meyer and Elise Bretton. For Heaven’s Sake is a very good example of a song composed during The Golden Age of American Pop Song by comparatively unknown writers, when compared to the composers of most of the other songs that appear in this series. There were many such songs that were discovered by great artists looking for great songs. Billie Holiday made a beautiful recording of this on her iconic album “Lady In Satin”. It has also been recorded by artists including, Chet Baker, Bill Evans and Wes Montgomery.
