a song i wrote in the pandemic, i never really got around to finishing it at all bc tequila spilled all over the laptop it was on and destroyed the track and its contents lol rip

behind the lyrics that are most impactful to me :

“I love all your flaws and all, every single scar I’ll always, love you.” 

As someone that use to self harm, it’s apparent where the scars are and some might see them and be quick to judge. I was fortunate enough to find friends that don’t
box me into any category. The right people/ person will love you as you are, and love you regardless of the things that’s happened to you. 

“Even when I’m wide awake, feels like fate keeps pulling me back to you”

It feels like a dream when you’ve found the person that never judges you, always lifts you up, picks up the phone at 6am because you’re way too drunk and feel like you’re dying and they Uber you over despite it being way too early in the morning. Buys you care packages when you’re sick/ on your period, simply goes above and beyond for you. I’m lucky that this happens to be my childhood best friend. So in this case, it does feel a little bit like fate.

What’s been really important for me is someone that doesn’t feel like they need to hide me. It’s not a situationship, it’s not a fling, they’re not embarrassed to show you off, they’re not controlling what you wear or what you post on social media. They love you, openly, and they’re not trippen over who sees.

Novahture and I wrote this song in 2022 during a writing session back at his old apartment in Downtown Honolulu before he relocated to California (I miss you bro) We sat on it for months until Hannah Zhao came across my TikTok feed one day. I instantly knew she was the one who was going to sing on the track and the rest is history

Excited to finally put out my mashup of Emotion Sickness x Mr. Brightside! I have been sitting on this project for a little over a year, and it was one that genuinely made me happy and excited about music and the direction I wanted to take with Crimsuna going forward. Even more exciting was getting to play this out live for my set at the UCCS Dance-A-Thon at Berger Hall.
