Recently, Matthew Anthony and Mark Starr have been combing through demo submissions in search of those extra special songs for the hotly-anticipated Swerve Vol 4 Compilation. In doing so they came across some strong tunes by an artist named Steve Darko. Based on the Atlantic coast in Boston, his music fits well with our Pacific coast sound. Without further ado; we'd like to introduce him now as an official Perfect Driver with his 2 track EP titled "Temptation." Consisting of title track "Temptation" and b side "Straight Up," both cuts are a perfect way to warm up dance-floors and pool parties alike. When we got this EP from unknown Italian producer Luke Rolla, we were at a loss for words. Dark, strange, but undeniably groovy, this 2-track debut floored us which meant we had to put him on. His EP, 'The Best Jacket,' is late night tech house at its most specific and articulate. The A-side, "The Best Excuse," is a minimal, yet complex rabbit hole into heady, bass euphoria. On the B-side, Luke Rolla pushes the tempo with "Your Jacket": a rollicking, shuffling, hypnotic heater that crushes the club sound system.

Gawp - Where Are You Going [OUT NOW]

Is it a bird, is it a plane, is it a BAKED BEAN?? NO. It’s the sweaty scalp of a man we call GAWP!

Hailing from the UK, the mad-man GAWP has cooked up a trio of the finest open canned audio for your pleasure. Interweaving the nuances of Tech, Bass and who knows what style of house, this EP has it all. The guy really can do anything.

The lead track 'Brassic' is a driving bass heavy cut with enough resonance to call for a small flock of birds. The FX in this record show the patience GAWP has for crafting the perfect mix. A strong 'Work' vocal finds itself placed thoughout the track while creepy percussions move in and out of time. Perfectly we might add.

The B-sides 'Hokus' and 'Redlight' showcase GAWP’s capabilities of creating tracks fit for any dancefloor. 'Hokus' is a dark techno cut while 'Redlight' has a touch more glitchy chunk to it.

After being friends with this frying crouchman for 10+ years, we are super chuffed to have him Squatting! on our label ;)
