Pastah J was raised in the Englewood neighborhood on the south side of Chicago.  As soon as he was able he left the community and moved as far away as he could.  But God surprised him by bringing him back to Englewood as a pastor and community leader.  In his book, Church Forsaken, he challenges us to rediscover that loving our neighbor means loving our neighborhood.  On this compilation he uses classic hip-hop to discuss the themes of the book and offer its message in a format relevant to the community in which he comes from.  He invites you on a musical journey that spans nearly 20 years and into ministry that has worked to offer good news for forgotten people and places.

A musical tribute to Saalik Ahmad Ziyad (1978-2019).  This track is a duet between Pastah J and Saalik that merges there two musical loves Jazz and Hip-hop while chronicling their friendship which began as singers in the Chicago Children's Choir.  This fun jazz/hip-hop fusion uses a sample of 'Beautiful Friendship" as performed by the Z Quartet and includes a few lines from   Pastah J's eulogy at Saalik's memorial entitled "Saalik's Final Tempo and Time Signature."  #MakeMoreMusic
