Some say he has the looks of an Egyptian…others say his accent is unfamiliar…his habits and humour are laced with irony and doubt…others claim him as their own, more yet find him an unwelcome pit of reflection at the most light of moments…

After winning an armwestling match with feisty bandits in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, he earned the nickname Profeta…and in the aftermath of the Arab Spring, he fought off a camel raider in the narrow streets at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Giza. He has herded cattle in the snowy peaks of Lesotho, and as a child set paper boats to sail in the Reflecting pool of Washington DC. 

And once in a remote Mongolian village he sipped vodka with the most senior descendant of Genghis Khan and discussed justice. And through music, he has, on occasion, made thousands chant his name…A product of multiple and incongruent worlds, Anekom’s writings are part inspired by his Spiritual battles and chaotic intellectual perambulation. Whether by fate or fortune all his dreams are complete cinematic overtures, and is the primary and haunting source of his writing.
