oxytocin

“your aura draws me closer” was a project I started on in Summer of 2022 when I went on a trip to Wyoming with my family. I recorded real sounds from the forest in the Grand Tetons and a old piano in one of our rental homes. 

This song shows a lot of correlation between being autistic and a musician. Autistic people are very drawn to unusual things that bring them joy. That could be repetitive behaviors like stimming, special interests, and for me, particular sounds. When there is a sound I like used in my compositions, I think that sound needs a lot of attention. If it sounds nice to me, I want to hear a lot of it.

When I first showed this project to my friends and peers, I just called it “aura” because I didn’t want to come off as weird to people if I revealed the full name, but now I’m uploading it with the full name so whatever.
