the first lecture had a in-class writing assignment to choose 2 contrasting elements and write a song using both in under 25min. the weekly homework was to take those same 2 elements and take a week to make a song.

this week's homework was to make a game/system for generating music ideas, then use it to make a song

the idea of my game is to take a random photo and pull 20 words from it, then take 2 words at random and apply some literary device. my game is pretty barebones to say the least lol, but it did help pull some ideas out.

i take pics on a cheapo old digicam (an attachment for the PSP), so i have all these crunchy low-res photos from going out and about. i wrote down 20 words pulled from the pic, and the 2 random ones i got were "shore" and "friend." this reminded me of the ending of the game ICO, so i wrote a song roughly about ICO.
