wow what a mix these tunes are unbelievable n its barely started

Just when I think my option of this pair couldn’t get any higher, I stumble across a mix like this and it rises again. So many little gems in here that take a true selector to pick out. I’ve listened to so many of Lena’s sets and have hardly ever heard her play a track more than once (maybe twice if it’s really good), I have no idea where she finds such quality is such quantity.

IT-XPO for Pick Me Up at The Listening Club (03/01/2025)

This recording is from the first edition of L’Appuntamento, a series of open-air listening sessions initiated by Villa Lontana Records and Donato Dozzy in Rome. Each gathering pairs a vinyl set by Dozzy with a live electroacoustic performance by a new-generation artist.

In this first edition, held in the garden of Villa Lontana, Donato Dozzy opened the evening with a selection of minimal, folkloric, and acoustic-rooted records — setting the tone for Verde Prato’s live performance.

L’Appuntamento is an ongoing invitation to pause, tune in, and share time through listening.

TORTURED SOULS - IT NEVER CHANGES V.02 (Original Mix)[II272D]

Berlin-based vocalist and producer J. Wiltshire crafts his own enchanting brand of ambient, electro and breakbeat techno which has come through on releases for Hypercolour, Musar Recordings and Black Orpheus.

He's also one of the minds behind Super Hexagon, the Leeds-based label that was spawned out of the club night of the same name. Now their focus is firmly on releases, and since its inception four years ago it's been a platform for both J. Wiltshire and fellow co-founder Alma Construct to share their own music, as well as instalments from the likes of Aldrich, FFT and Lårry.

Following a return to Musar earlier this year with his Resa EP, he steps up for this week's Ransom Note mix, bringing a taste of the influences that steer his own production...
