Will Clarke mans the controls: Making his Dirtybird debut in January with "Badness" on DIRTYBIRD 10, follwing up with "The Boogie Woogie" EP and lazer-snapping "808Frenzy" on "DIRTYBIRD BBQ - Grill$ons Revenge" collection, the bristly Bristol-based spandex enthusiast has enjoyed a beautiful summer with releases on Defected, Emerald City and Turbo and unforgettable shows across the US, Australia and Europe.

Returning to the label with the bulbous two-track EP "Turn It Up," Clarke does just that: Writhing in carnal groove simplicity, he taps into the roots of timeless, low-down, butt-wriggling house music with three obscene examples of strong-armed tech funk. "Can You Funk" punches with Breach-level hookiness, and Turn It Up does the loopy-loop with Dirtybirds trademark vocal trippiness.

Two contrasting remixes of ‘Space Date’ come courtesy of Pleasurekraft and John Monkman, as the three-way collaboration between Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani and Green Velvet continues to thrill. Joining the strong reworks is an unexpected treat for fans; a last-minute inclusion of a fresh new original track from the trio.

Drumcode got its first taste of Pleasurekraft’s unique production touch in 2016 when ‘Dopefield’ dropped on ‘A-Sides Vol.5’. The Swedish/American duo’s exploration of cosmic techno realms made them the ideal candidates to re-work ‘Space Date’. Their contribution is as visceral as they come; defined by a hypnotic vocal arrangement, a stirring call and response melody and propulsive galloping beats fashioned for peak-time moments. No surprise it was a highlight of Adam Beyer’s Ultra Resistance sets and gobsmacked Maceo Plex who requested a promo to play at Time Warp a week later.

Meanwhile Drumcode debutant John Monkman steps up with a very different, but not less deadly reinterpretation of ‘Space Date’. The Brit has impressed in recent times with strong releases on Ellum, Kompakt and his own Beesemyer imprint, and takes this form into DC207. His is a twisted intergalactic re-rub drenched in warped electro, blistering modular sounds and touches of IDM that manages the difficult task of taking the original to darker, more leftfield realms without ever losing its powerful dancefloor pulse. 

A new collaborative work ‘Data Point’ joins the pack, only completed by the trio of Beyer, Giordani and Green Velvet in late May in time for the Drumcode boss to drop it at IMS Dalt Villa during the sunset slot with Ida Engberg.

Submarine Vibes concludes this year’s releases with a brand new EP from Haris Kate, called Khor Al Adaid. This release includes 3 original songs, one of which is a collaboration with Gkraikos Tete, and two remixes done by AmuAmu and The Foreigners.

Haris Kate is a Greek producer and DJ who first appeared on Submarine Vibes with his remix of track Linger. Day in, day out, Haris keeps on showing his production skills with a series of quality releases and it is our absolute pleasure to once again have him on our label.

His music can best be described as a mix of melodic and ethnic electronica infused with deep house music, spiritual elements, and lots of groove underneath it all. So far, Haris has had many releases on some great labels such as Ready Mix Records, One Of a Kind / The Purr Music, Vagabond Recordings, Mahayana Records, among others.

The Remix of track Moroccan was done by AmuAmu, a project belonging to one of our recurring and dear artists - Marcus Sur. AmuAmu has been characterized as a specific niche of spiritual dance music. So far, AmuAmu has had the chance to play all over the world and release his music via some of the best labels out there.

Bulgarian duo The Foreigners is also returning to Submarine Vibes after the release of the outstanding Dreams EP with ShoSho. This time they deliver an amazing remix of Khor Al Adaid.
