Does anyone actually want to be monogamous? Or is it just a condition you accept because you want your partner to be monogamous?
I want to be monogamous.

As of tomorrow (5/22/2020), I’ll have been married for ten years.

In that time, of course I have found women other than my wife attractive on a basic level. And I know for a fact that there are men other than me whom she finds attractive.

We’re faithful, not dead or blind.

But I would never want the freedom to sleep around with other women even if I knew it would be entirely one-sided and my wife would remain entirely exclusive to me.

I am hers and she is mine. And that’s what I wanted when I asked her to marry me a little over eleven years ago.

I didn’t just want to put my ring on her finger—I wanted hers on mine as well. We belong to each other.

I can’t imagine marriage any other way.
