On April 13, 2021, William & Mary Law School’s Center for the Study of Law and Markets hosted Professor Steven G. Medema, who presented a lecture entitled "Why Do Economists Use Imaginary Worlds?: What the Coase Theorem Tells Us About Why Law Matters.”

Prof. Medema is Research Professor of Economics at Duke University. He serves as an associate editor or editorial board member of several history of economics journals, and was editor of the Journal of the History of Economic Thought from 1999–2008. He also serves as the Associate Director of the Center for the History of Political Economy at Duke.

On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, The Center for the Study of Law and Markets, The Federalist Society, and The Business Law Society co-sponsored a lecture by Professor Julia D. Mahoney, "ESG Disclosure and Securities Regulation." 

Professor Mahoney is the John S. Battle Professor of Law and the Joseph C. Carter, Jr., Research Professor of Law at the University of Virginia School of Law.

On April 17, 2017, Professor Barak D. Richman presented a lecture as a guest of William & Mary Law School's Center for the Study of Law and Markets titled “Should We Subject Religion to Market Forces?  Examining the Economics of Judaism."

Professor Richman is the Edgar P. and Elizabeth C. Bartlett Professor of Law and Professor of Business Administration at Duke University.

On November 13, 2017, Sheldon Gilbert presented a lecture as a guest of William & Mary Law School’s Center for the Study of Law and Markets titled “The Constitutional Law of Economic Liberty, as Told Exclusively through Cows.”

Mr. Gilbert is the director of the Institute for Justice’s Center for Judicial Engagement (CJE) in Arlington, Va. As CJE’s director, he educates the public about the proper role of judges in enforcing constitutional limits on the size and scope of government.

Prof. Adler is  the Johan Verheij Memorial Professor of Law and the Director of the Center for Business Law and Regulation at Case Western Reserve University School of Law.

Professor Fox is Michael E. Patterson Professor of Law at Columbia Law School. He is Co-Director of the Center for Law and Economic Studies and co-director of the Program in the Law and Economics of Capital Markets.
