Flip It Quik is a high-energy artist with a huge yet humble personality. This Richmond-raised rapper has been grinding his way to the top over the last decade to solidify his place in mainstream media. He is currently pushing “2 Much Time Wasted,” his latest album with fire tracks such as “DGAF.” Quik also has genius marketing strategies, which has helped him to increase his visibility and become more of a household name.

Although he has been in the industry for ten years, a great deal of Flip It Quik’s inspiration derived from his cousins, who influenced him by always rapping and carrying their notebooks to write rhymes. Versatile artists who can switch lanes were also a deep source for motivation; for example, Yo Gotti, Young Jeezy, and Jay-Z. These artists also had a similar process of molding themselves from raw talent to becoming powerhouse brands within the music industry.

When asked about his current single, “DGAF,” Quik’s joy radiated as he smiled and exclaimed, “That's my single, my anthem, my everything… that’s my turn up song for myself!” This jam is a heavy hitter club banger that he says sends the message: I’m focused on what I’m focused on--instead of gossip, drama, or anything else others are doing.

Quik can write his own music as well as “punch in” by going bar-for-bar off the top of his head. Not only does he spit true messages on crunk beats, Quik is also a storyteller with his lyrics. His 2019 single “Casamigos” was a story about getting his first DUI while operating a Slingshot in Vegas. The irony was that he doesn’t even party or drink often, so getting in trouble with the law was a shocker.
