When two opposing perspectives meet, one inevitable outcome is conflict. It's only natural if both sides collide completely confident in who they are and what they stand for, certain that what they stand for is right.

But, in my experience, another outcome can be love. If I am open to accepting that there are all kinds of truths in this world, each one different from the other, than filling my eyes up with something completely foreign to myself and my own thoughts can become addicting and insatiable.

However, attraction, curiosity, even open conversation, isn't always enough to overcome fundamental differences. Understanding might be gained, but the dissonance remains.

And, in the end, it's better to part ways.

I did my best to capture how it feels to forever wonder what might have been. To me, it is not the sort of sadness that is heavy to carry, burdensome to live with and difficult to move on from... it's just a steady and subtle current of what if, my constant companion through the ebbs and flows of life, grieving what was lost in inches.

The sun always sets and, no matter how wonderful it was, summer - like dreams - always ends.
