The Parasymbol is operated upon “xlbcc2”, a musical collaboration between B Xovington Xam-Xumana and Curtly Thomas held at La Becque Principal Artist Residency. “xlbcc2” is a demo from Xovington’s privately vaulted studio album entitled “SYZYGY I: ¡Prym Tym!”

Abstracts of parasymbols 1-7 were presented originally between the 12th and 24th of October 2022 at Gropius Bau in Berlin, Germany as part of the “Visions Listening Programme” for its exhibition “YOYI! Care, Repair, Heal”.

The chronicle continues, deepening the legend… Out Under Streets serves as a milestone in the profuse and vastly intangible catalog of Bug Bus Piano – a decade into the cult project’s existence, this album stands as its first LP. But Bug Bus Piano, the originator of Hard Ambient, is perhaps better understood as an outlook or world unto itself. At any given moment it is a spirited performance of hyper-ambivalence, a refuge and processing center for personal history, populist strife and achievement, a besieged utopian commune. Out Under Streets is the newest export of this philosophy and perhaps the finest point of entry yet into all that is Bug Bus Piano. Far from didactic, the journey underground and back again concept which structures the record serves as a vehicle to consider what lies beneath the potholes in our pavement and centuries of cracked sidewalk. Every demolition or collapse and each successive failure at putting the pieces back together again. Having received the blessing of Carriswheel, Stern Records is proud to inaugurate itself with a major handmade ambient statement by Bug Bus Piano.

A stretch of time lived without much questioning unfolds in a different refraction of light; the struggle that once felt ordinary now carries an unexpected weight. Years go on by, quiet in their motion but repetitive in the ripples that they create. The final track of this EP resembles the warmth of conversation, and realising that there have been doors that were left half-open. Ending abruptly, the closure is reached - sonic glimmers of the bittersweet and relief sprinkle themselves all over.

stnvndijk* is an Amsterdam-based producer offering a unique subversion to electronic dance music as we know it. His growing presence has quickly been extending to radio stations, venues and online spheres across Europe and beyond. Creating fractures in rhythms and danceable energies, his hyper-surrealist take on soundscapes fuse his multi-instrumentalism with the world of digital, computerised music.

◊◊dagerblad◊◊ is a producer and singer from Arnhem. Part of Art collective klokpack6ix, her work is situated within hyperpop. Her solo work explores trans identity, gender dysphoria and lived experience. She masterfully does this through digital artefacts, extreme vocal processing, as well as grain and time stretching. Phe*lt was written and recorded from the perspective of grief, and the regret that follows.
