Here Padraig Ruane a development worker with SAGE Advocacy talks about some cases where a client was being ushered towards long term care in a nursing home after a spell in hospital even though that was not his wish. With some consultation and with supports put in place he was enabled to stay in his own place. His keys and his pension were returned to him and so too his independence.
