Composición para oferenda n. 23  [Feat. Ingr_d] (Mentufacturer's Black Rose Refix)

A new phase of releases on Dionysian Industrial.  

We welcome Phillip Häxan who produces murky darkwave pop; slick indigo, coral and deep crimson digital arrangements, slathered in lo-fi gloom and topped with Häxan's 
own disturbingly wobbly and processed baritone vocals. A Pete Murphy minotaur, wailing sorrowfully, as he shuffles through the endless dark corridors of his labyrinth 
beneath the sea. 

This one-off single starts with a burst of bright digital harp, briefly illuminating the shadows. Before being engulfed again by rolling waves of arpeggiation. 
We hear dusty footsteps of percussion. And the distant echoes of the minotaur's bellows and roars of pain, multiplied through the tunnels. 

The minotaur's heart is broken. His confidence shot. He struggles as to whether to allow himself brief flares of hope. As shoals of indefinite but polychromatic 
lead-synth swim by, momentarily re-illuminating the hard repetitive musical geometry of his twisted world.

Uma nova fase de lançamentos da Dionysian Industrial. Damos as boas-vindas a Phillip Häxan, que produz um pop darkwave: refinados arranjos digitais de tonalidade índigo, coral e carmesim, cobertos de uma melancolia lo-fi e acompanhados de vocais barítonos perturbadoramente instáveis. Um minotauro Pete Murphiano, gemendo pesaroso enquanto se arrasta pelos intermináveis corredores sombrios de seu labirinto debaixo do mar.

Esta faixa começa com o lampejo de uma harpa digital, iluminando brevemente a escuridão antes de ser novamente engolida por ondas de arpejos.

Podemos escutar os passos empoeirados de uma percussão. E os ecos distantes dos rugidos de dor do minotauro multiplicados através dos túneis. O coração do minotauro está partido. Sua confiança abalada. Ele luta para se permitir breves momentos de esperança.

Ao mesmo tempo, cardumes de um sintetizador policromático passam nadando, momentaneamente re-iluminando a austera e repetitiva geometria musical de um mundo tortuoso. CPLX 10 : Phillip Häxan - Lines

Mentufacturer describes himself as “an industrial kid who grew up to admit his love for melodic mantras”. When not working behind the scenes as one of Dionysian Industrial Complex’s founders / curators, he tries to make good on that claim with a series of quirky EPs that combine clattery and cluttered percussion with yearning melodic riffs played on cheap synth plugins.

But in this single, a collaboration with Shamanic singer Biophillick, he sets his sights on the chill or glo-pop sound of the early 2010s. It’s a hazy and lazy affair in the vein of “Work Drugs” or “Neon Indian”. A sound that is sun-glare on sea and saturated beach colours.

Or at least, that’s where you feel Mentufacturer wants to take it. But strange moves keep disturbing the reverie. An aggressive pummeling battery of distorted kicks marks the end of each hyper-measure, like a beach bully kicking over the sand-castles. A sudden screeching tape-stop ruptures the vibe to announce a big echoey bass that might well have come from early 80s post-punk. The trappish snare-claps are just a bit too crisp for the impressionistic scene. Biophillick’s languidly murmuring, slightly androidified vocals, in celebration of hot light and the neon serpent of a thousand colours, help to re-establish the glo-wave feel. But it remains just slightly too robotic. The audio-equivalent of Biophillick’s visual art : an intense electric neon take on the succulent colours of nature.
