A prehistoric stomp set to jangling guitars, jungle beats and the synth sounds of deep time, the insanity of the post Covid world is brought into the spotlight. The borders of our home, breached by bugs, mould, bacteria and viruses, are no longer as rigid as we thought. In a pandemic world, any semblance of order seems out the window, and this absurdist bop captures the frenetic surrealism of a world in which we are forced to live indoor, unsocial lives and face the grim borders of our shit rented accommodation.

Bristol-based indie-pop flaneurs Marsupial Soup release their latest track, a Bossa-infused groove about holiday lovin'. Inspired by the romanticism of Mediterranean wine culture, the soup boys wrap sunny hooks, analogue drum machine grooves and their usual languid, chorusey guitar lines into a leisure-class aesthetic as the protagonist wonders if love in the vines is due to last. It's a track for the summer of the nostalgic past, one for that holiday romance that lives with you in the rosy vista of yesteryear.
