For the 111th edition of Desert Hut Podcast Series, we’re pleased to welcome Da Le (Havana).

Dj´s & producers Iván Lejardi and David Casas have merged their aural universes with their duo “Da Le (Havana)”, a collaboration that blends powerful electronics with the wealth of traditional and Afro-Cuban music.

Fresh from the producers labs, Da Le (Havana) rhythmic experiment has been put to the test at Havana´s most in-demand venues, such as Fabrica De Arte Cubano (FAC), Havana World Music Fest, and Eyeife Fest among others.

Here their sound recipe hints at an evolution in the Cuban electronic music scene, traversing local frontiers and setting up an identity amongst the international circuit.

Both artists are finding in the past and present of their Cuban roots the very substance of what has made the island a true cultural hub for years. “Da Le (Havana)” is borne to the world by the strength of Cuban musical traditions and the producer´s will to uphold this heritage from their unique experience within electronic music, committed to the contemporary scene; styles like Afro-House, Deep House and Afro-Beat are naturally found in their repertoire.

We’re beyond happy to continue our series at Deep House Barcelona with @Lion_Heart - an incredible artist from Finland, currently living in Tulum, Mexico. We discovered LionHeart, on his real name Lasse Larkovuo, a few years back and completely felt amazed by his unique way of storytelling through music and hoped he would be part of our project ever since. LionHeart brings a deep dimension of sound with smooth grooves, lush breaks and dreamy vocals, seducing you to either dance or meditate. His spiritual nature is his core as a person - a true LionHeart indeed, spreading love, awareness and inviting you to be part of a musical dialogue, inspired by the planet's surroundings and the dance floor. Having much experience playing for crowds throughout the world at the festivals Colors of Love, Hedone and Restaura Experience, he understands how to develop a moving experience and a profound journey for the listeners. "I’ve been a passionate collector of all types of music for over 20 years and as a DJ creating journeys whether it be ambient or for the dance floor, music has always been my favorite form of meditation and release. Music is also the fuel for my creative process as a fashion designer for my sustainable, natural clothing brand VALO Design (www.valodesign.fi). Combining elements that may initially seem very different from each other into a vibrational  harmony, happens in both arts. There is a great challenge and satisfaction in creating something new and interesting from separate pieces, as much with songs as fabrics and patterns. Both are challenging fields to stand out and offer something unique! 

I always try to recreate my music offering into something new, surprising and interesting. These days I too rarely find DJ mixes or sets in clubs or festivals that offer something with an unusual twist and with a bit of surprise. So I’ve become a big fan of mixing beyond genres or tempos and try to be outside of the safe zone with how I play. This is why I also enjoy playing unconventional dancefloors, especially for the collectives I am a resident artist for, Colors of Love, Hedone and Restaura Experience. All these unique communities offer both artists and all participants the space to express without traditional boundaries and preconceptions. 

About the mix: This mix expresses some of the waves of emotions I’ve been going thru in my personal journey the past years, a bit of deep and mysterious, something hypnotic, something playful and dreamy…finishing with feelings of hope and harmony. A lot of airy grooves with breaky basslines! It was a big pleasure to put this one together :)
