My Train Ride

My life is like a train ride
Meeting many people everyday 
Throughout my life briefly there
Then they eventually go away

Similar to a train station
People come and then they go
Some of them have touched my heart
But others I will never know 

There are so many people though
They are always by my side
Then there are countless others
That are there just for the ride 

Empathy love and compassion
These are my life’s keys 
So I will follow all these train tracks 
To my final destiny

My life’s journeys that I travel
Dead ends I often face
Until I buy a ticket to heaven
That will be my resting place

There then I shall meet 
The people that I knew from long ago
Most of them will be my family
How I have missed each of them so 

Yes, definitely I have missed my mum 
I have certainly missed my wife
But for this moment along these tracks 
I must still travel this train of life
