In keeping with the spirit of the age, we had a quiet night in last night for New Year's Eve. Thought I'd use it constructively though, so recorded a rework of an old song I wrote many years ago when I was still young and idealistic and thought I knew what freedom and liberty were; that we'd gig forever and lockdowns only ever happened in prison movies 😁

thinking meat, on the shelf, like cartons of ice-cream
rack after rack of frozen fiends without a face
all watched over by machines of loving grace

in the graceless world above, the blast-doors are uncovered
the ancient warnings prove that there's a treasure to discover
we don't find any precious stones or golden thrones that glimmer
but an ice-box filled with tv dinners
