Magic Mirror

Had a week’s vacation 
planned in the sand and sun 
the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean

Got a condo on the beach 
and our friends they brought a boat 
but the storm clouds rolled on in 
and the beach became a moat

Now we’re, 
making the best of rainy days 
this hurricane won’t blow
 our good vibes away 
we may not see the sun 
but there’s enough beer for everyone 
we’re making the best of rainy days

The weatherman said we should bail 
but we got a freezer full of lobster tails 
the power’s out 
we got to eat them all 
and sterilize this juice with alcohol 

shutters up for our protection 
freedom from an Internet connection 
singing songs of love, loss and redemption 
till the storm is done 
drunken sing-along fun 
like bums in the VIP section

Now we’re, 
making the best of rainy days 
this hurricane won’t blow
 our good vibes away 
we may not see the sun 
but there’s enough weed for everyone

We got three strings on the guitar 
a trombone player with a broken arm 
16 kazoos all in the mix 
a drum set played with pretzel sticks 
no bartender 
but a lot of rum 
misery this would be for some 
but we don’t fret 
and we don’t run 
there’s no work today 
so today’s 
the day 
to waste away 
and have fun

Got a friend named Steve 
He used to be depressed nearly all the time

Sarah was a good girl
Way too good for a scoundrel like me
Inevitably I broke her heart, tore it apart
That’s when she met my old friend Steve
He said I know it’s rough 
I know it’s tough 
I know this life can be so very hard. 
But if you want to come and hang with me 
I’ve got a cure hanging in my backyard

Come on over darlin’ get in my hammock
It’s built for two
Everyone deserves a hammock
And I got one, just for me and you.
Yeah, it’s true 
Now I tell you what I’m gonna do

I’m going to swing it in the city 
Gonna swing it by the ocean

With the Coppertone lotion 
Meditation 
Relaxation 
Medication keep me calm 
My ass in a hammock I can do no harm

Bimini, Jamaica, Carolina or Dakota
Louisiana, Tijuana, Maine or Minnesota

If it’s snowing outside!

Steve and Sara got married 
Somewhere down south in the Keys
Surrounded by the people that they love 
All their friends and family 
Well Uncle Joe, he say 
“I don’t know how the two of you can always be so happy”
Sara got a sparkle in her eyes
And smiled right at Steve

They said, we got hammocks

That’s why we brought everybody’s hammocks
