I'm writing on piano (well, a Bosendorfer Grand Piano present on Logic) as I've got a piano piece commission so I'm triallling ideas for that. Plus, tentatively getting used to the whole new world of possibilities of this DAW.

This is this week's response to the @naviar-records haiku challenge:

Now dragons may be hard to find
Those knights of old have done their worst
Perhaps they’re in some smoky cave 
Sleeping deep within the earth
Now those who wish for derring do
Well they will have to look anew
P’haps catching tides, surfing waves or flying through the air

They want to be a hero
They want to be the one
Whose names is on the lips of men
An hour in the sun
But harbour lights are burning bright
And I’ll be home with you tonight
Don’t want to fight for what seems right over some imagined cause
Don’t want to be anyone else’s hero, but yours.

There’s those who sailed away to sea
In search of fortune and of fame
Who found some far untrodden land
And gave the land their name
Now there’s no undiscovered place
Where dint of man you’ll find no trace
Except perhaps inside your heart
That’s where I’ll play my part

His new album, The Gambler, is more than eight tracks in the dub techno genre—it is a musical reinterpretation of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel The Gambler. Every sound, every vibration feels like a roll of the dice, leading the listener into deep, almost mystical labyrinths of the human psyche.

It begins with “Alexei Ivanovich”—an introspection of a hero teetering between passion and madness. “Polina Alexandrovna” shrouds you in melancholy and mystery, as if the music tells its own secret intrigues. “General” resonates with authority and order, while “Madame de Cominges” gently draws you into an elegant game of seduction and manipulation. “Marquis de Grieux” is a rhythmic elegy of desire, “Mr Astley” hints at hidden motives and perilous games, “Mlle Blanche” transports you into a light, almost ethereal illusion, and “Potapych” concludes the album, leaving a lingering sense of contemplative longing and the inevitability of fate.

Each composition by Francesco Tamburrano is crafted with the precision of an alchemist: deep motifs intertwine with spatial effects, creating the sensation that the sound breathes alongside you. This album is an experiment at the boundaries of time, space, and emotion.

What makes it truly special is that The Gambler is released on the Russian label [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB]. Forget the club; enter the ceremony. Fértil Discos beckons you through a new portal, “Fértil Club,” a new series curated by DJ Nim through which the heartbeat of ancient South America meets the pulse of the future. The inaugural transmission arrives from Pawkarmayta, a solo project of Peruvian artist Anthony Paucarmayta. His album, “Aramu” (Serpent of the Andes), is a nine-track ceremonial voyage composed in C minor, a rich and expressive key known for creating music with a strong emotional impact, which can influence a listener's mood and state of mind. Crafted during the pandemic's silence, the work draws from Paucarmayta’s dedication to sound healing and his vast archive of Peru's auditory landscapes – forest winds, flowing water, and avian conversations collected over decades. Rooted in his classical training from Cusco, the music weaves ceremonial tradition with electronic minimalism, transforming field recordings into a potent medicine for the mind and a vessel for escape.

Premiered here, AWKA unfolds as a deep, percussive meditation anthem.
