God Bless The Broken Road

Most often described as "hauntingly beautiful", "She Waits" stands almost alone in this collection of songs. This is the first of several to be released as singles, later to be re-released as part of an album. I write this during my undergrad studies in music and language, inspired by the cultural differences among my friends. The lyrics came from something very tender, then developed into a much deeper meaning. After years of the recording never sounding quite right, I was fortunate to work with Everett Glovier, who brought this to life as it should be. Thanks for listening, and I hope you enjoy it!

She Waits

Described as "angelic", this song was inspired during my later Nashville days, but finished when I came back to my roots: my favorite piano and using the voice as a solo instrument. I have to thank Grace, one of my first students, for loving it, and then encouraging me to record it.

Let Me In

Most of my songs are inspired by people in my life; I think I'm just writing about them, but later on, I realize how much of myself is in each one. This one, however, I knew was about me when the first words fell out of my mouth, and was the first step to me digging out of the hole I'd dug myself into artistically and personally. It represents who I was at that moment; that person has grown, but the emotions that brought me here will never be forgotten.

Fade Away

The heart wants, the mind decides, and if we are smart, we remember our worth, before we have to feel any disappointment in ourselves. We know people are manipulative; it's still our job to sift through the mediocrity and be strong. Doesn't hurt to add a few guitars in the mix :)

I've Made Up My Mind

When it's just too late (or inappropriate) to say how you feel, you might as well write a song about it. There is no room for regrets, just a message from the heart, with an upright bass, and a brush on the drum. Hope you enjoy it, and thanks for listening :)

How Was I To Know

I will never forget the memory, sitting on the floor of my roommate's freshly painted room, sharing this lovely nougat of Tammy Wynette's, singing it for my new TN friends, and the reaction they had. I wish I could have believed in myself then, the way they believed in me. It's one of those songs I'll be forever grateful not only to know, but to be able to sing, and hope to do it justice. Till I Can Make It On My Own (cover/demo)

Many people have asked me for recordings of my own, and I am working on my originals, but this was part of a project I started when I was in Nashville, recording some covers in an effort to obtain some demo singing work.
