RANIC is a young DJ & music producer based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. RANIC’s real name is Niek Langerak. From an early age Niek was a big fan of EDM music. At the age of eleven Niek got his first DJ deck and from then on he couldn’t stop practicing, pushing himself to get better and better. Three years later, Niek started making his own music. Inspired by EDM, he developed his own style that is infectiously catchy, energetic and danceable.

After the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022, Niek (turning 17) started to DJ in the public arena. He participated in the renowned young talent competition 'Kunstbende', provence South-Holland, category DJ. As a participant he needed a stage name. He came up with RANIC. RA from RAve and NIC from his full first name NICola. The first year RANIC competed he learned a lot but didn’t win. The second year he did win! Especially his first release ‘Hostage’ RANIC got the attention of the jury: “Always in control. A strong stage presence and a good story in his set.” He also entered the finals later that year. With more music and gigs on the way, RANIC has just started his big journey.
