Como un mar de hierro - Obra acusmática compuesta en 2017 por invitación de la asociación Musiques & Recherches, Bélgica dedicada a la compositora argentina Beatriz Ferreyra por su 80 cumpleaños. Se trata de una reflexión sobre la relación entre timbre y movimiento que parte de una serie de muestras de sonidos marinos que va mutando tímbricamente hacia bloques de hierro pero manteniendo la gestualidad del movimiento del mar asignando las dinámicas del sonido del mar a las muestras de sonidos de trozos de hierro, trabajando siempre la dinámica y el timbre pero no la altura que permanece mas o menos estática durante toda la pieza.

Como un mar de hierro (Like a sea made of iron)- Acousmatic piece composed by Daniel Schachter in 2017 after an invitation from the Musiques & Recherches association (Belgium). It is dedicated to the Argentinian composer Beatriz Ferreyra for her 80th birthday. The piece is a reflection on the relationship between timbre and movement starting from a series of samples of marine sounds whose timbre mutates towards one of iron blocks maintaining the gestures of the sea movement. For this purpose the dynamic envelopes of the sound of the sea waves were assigned to different samples of pieces of iron, keeping in mind that from the perceptive point of view these surrogacies intend to work on dynamics and timbre but not the pitch that remains more or less static throughout the whole piece

Sonata (i)

Funded by the Arts Council England, Spectral Domains was composed in 2017 for the German ensemble TRIONYS with 8-channel electroacoustic sound.  Spectral analysis of piano timbre was used to generate a core set of harmonic structures expanded through digital processing into new textures and blending violin, percussion and live piano sonority.
