A string of pearls a été enregistrée en 1941 par Glenn Miller et son orchestre. Chanson composée par Jerry Gray et Eddie DeLange (paroles). Elle a été reprise par Benny Goodman. Célèbre standard de jazz, elle apparaît dans les films The Glenn Miller Story (1953), Carnal Knowledge (1971),  Oh, God! (1977).
