"Blues No. 4" is one of the seven mesmerizing pieces from Loren Connors' 1990 masterpiece, "Blues: The 'Dark Paintings' of Mark Rothko" -- an LP originally released on Connors' St. Joan imprint in a handmade edition of 300 copies. Family Vineyard is reissuing this album on May 12, 2015. For this reissue, engineer Taylor Deupree restored the audio to Connors’ specifications of how these instrumentals were intended to sound. Bossa Nova = Nouvelle Vague = New Wave. This transliteration was the starting point for Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux’s unique project, which, by appropriating the punk and post-punk cannon and running it through the Bossa Nova filter, reinvented the cover band genre, revealing new and brilliant talents along the way: Camille, Phoebe Killdeer (whose Fade Out Lines was remixed by The Avener,) Élodie Frégé, Mélanie Pain, Liset Alea...
The time seems right to write a new chapter in the Nouvelle Vague saga: with a new album “I Could Be Happy”. Athol Brose is the first EP of the band and its coterie of female vocalists. Nouvelle Vague and Friends is thus more of a nexus of forthcoming projects: a new album comprised of punk and post punk standards imbued with the inimitable Nouvelle Vague touch. Reworked versions of Nouvelle Vague classics, recorded with traditional live musicians along the way during the last few years’ Starwood/le Méridien Hotel like Ever Fallen in Love with Indian instruments and for the first time, a remix by Dream Koala and a number of other surprises!

When "She" was self-released in 2003, Higuchi had been writing and performing his style of “Tokyo laborer's blues” for a decade. The delicate song textures of "She" capture the utter feeling of loneliness and a sleep-deprived mind staring off into a blurry urban sky.

She LP/CD/DL to be released Sept. 22, 2017 worldwide.

Television Personalities unreleased album 'Beautiful Despair' is released on 26th January 2018 on Fire Records. Recorded in 1990 by Jowe Head at his flat in Glading Terrace, Stoke Newington (shortly before it was demolished), over a number sessions on a portable 4-track cassette-tape machine.

Of the previously unheard songs, “I Like That In A Girl” was based on a conversation Daniel Treacy had with Lawrence of the Birmingham band Felt, hence the peculiar accent that Dan uses towards the end. “Love Is A Four-Letter Word” was a song the band would play regularly live and eventually evolved into “Love is Better Than War” and "I Suppose You Think It’s Funny”  displays Jowe and Daniel's double-falsetto skills.

'If You Fly Too High' was based on an encounter with Evan Dando of The Lemonheads in Berlin; we did a memorable gig with them at the Ecstasy Madhouse in December 1989, when the Berlin Wall was being torn down.  Exciting times.  We jammed with Evan on stage that night, playing some tunes by Jonathan Richman and Johnny Thunders, as I recall.  That song also mentions Alan McGee, who was a great fan of the TVPS and Dan’s songs.  Alan openly admits that he emulated Dan’s style of music, and influenced his decision to run a mod-psychedelic club, The Living Room, and to start his label, Creation.
