In the late 90’s everything had to be “EXTREME!” 
It was, after all, Generation X. 
To answer the call, many artists produced edgy music with metal vibes, and solid four-on-the-floor dance beats. I often cherry-picked from these for late-night mixes that would whip the dancefloor into a frenzy. Nestled somewhere between Post Industrial, Electronica, and Heavy Metal This music isn’t easy to corner into a specific genre – so I’m calling it “X Metal”.
Here’s an 18-minute sampling from that time.
