Elegy for a solitary trumpet and string orchestra. In this part the Pandemic Suite reaches its deepest melancholic expression. The track grapples with loss—what is gone and cannot be reclaimed, inconsolable sorrow and irrevocable regret. The everyday painfull questions:
- Where were you when I searched you ? 
- Where were I when You searched me ?
- Where were you when I needed you ? 
- Where were I when you needed me ?
- Where were we when we got lost ?

So nice that my longtime collaborator friend @dough-factory has returned to SoundCloud after a break of a couple years! This is our first track working together since then and it came together in a really cool way. I was inspired by Ryan's electronic drums and bass to lay down some rhythm guitar as well as a few synth leads. Then he came up with some awesome lyrics/vocals that I think captures the vibe of this piece quite well.

Keep an eye out for more from us, we are thinking of pulling together a whole album or EP over the coming months.

REMEMBERING
This is a piece of nostalgia and deep longing. It just came out one day much to my surprise at least 12 years ago and I very recently decided to redo it as the piece was never was completely finished in the way that I wanted it to be. 

In hindsight this was a big mistake because in opening up old digital files you have to deal with outdated VI string libraries and possible glitches and incompatibilities. In this case, not only was the string library very old, but it had also gone out of business, so there was no way of updating it, so I had to find a substitute which would do the same things that it did. All the libraries are configured differently as well. I think it was done in Kontakt 2 originally?

Perseverance and patience reigned and here we are. So easy to say now, but so hard to do. I almost gave up a couple of times. Every experience is a learning opportunity. The solo violin virtual instrument is by the one and only Kirk Hunter. It’s a bit unwieldy, but I love its sense of expression and wild adventure. Perfect for this piece. And there were no compatibility issues with it either.

Rather Strange

Never Saw It Coming is an emotional pop/R&B song about unexpected heartbreak. The lyrics capture the shock of love ending suddenly, leaving only confusion and pain. With powerful and heartfelt vocals, the song blends vulnerability and intensity, portraying the struggle of facing loss that arrived without warning, shattering trust and hope.

Spontaneously improvised this simple piano solo tune at the morning. Enjoy!

For this improvisation I’ve used: VSL Concert D-274 Essentials + Brainworx townhouse compressor + Relab LX480 reverb. I think this piano has a very rich sound and especially fits well for a classical music. Brainworx compressor and LX480 reverb make the sound a bit softer and warmer.
