Crissy Criss’ The Zoooo Records is back with its tenth release, packed with enough heavyweight drum & bass to cause an Outbreak! This five-tracker sees Callide teaming up with Intraspekt to deliver some of the biggest, baddest D&B we’ve heard in months and now you can get your hands on these undeniable dance floor smashers.

First up ‘Stone Cold’ features the vocal talents of MC Coppa and launches straight into the mayhem with winding synths and grinding mid-range bass notes that call out for an answer. And when that slithering, filthy Reese bass calls out in reply you know it’s game over. Did someone ask for the reload?

‘Judgement’ drops in with pounding two step rhythms and booming chunks of bass. Metallic shimmers and infectious melodies seal the deal and this one drops just as hard as the first. Swiftly following is ‘Outbreak’ packed with rave stabs, hefty distorted bass and rolling breakbeats that all show another dimension to Callide & Intraspekt’s collaborative EP… and it’s easy to see why they picked this as the title track.

‘Noise Distrubance’ gets into tribal rhythms juxtaposed with grizzled bass and orchestral stabs before dropping an unrelenting beat pattern that’s sure to destroy just about any dance you care to drop it in. Finally, Callide & Instraspekt treat us to ‘Pitfall’ another slice of D&B that shows off their diversity, combining epic synths with a killer backbone of punchy beats and rib-rattling bass. 

It will come as no surprise to many that 1Xtra DJ, drum & bass tastemaker and The Zoooo Records owner Crissy Criss has impeccable A&R skills, but clearly Callide & Instraspekt have helped push them to a whole new level with this anthem-packed EP. Guaranteed dance floor mayhem every time you break it out.

TR Tactics, the producer and DJ duo from Austria, have been storming up a lot of people’s lists of artists to watch in 2014. After releases on Citrus, Disturbed and Dissected Culture, they drop ABREC07 on Addictive Behaviour, their latest and greatest work to date.

Addictive are one of the most forward thinking labels out there, always allowing the talent and dedication of their artists to shine through, and Time Slice/Cone is no exception. After their success in the D&B Arena remix competition, and a series of amazing releases, the duo are definitely on the rise.

Time Slice starts off as a dark, ominous roller, full of atmosphere and deep level vibes. The beats drop in when you least expect them, charging head long into some very dangerous territory. Switching electronics accompany the drop, where forceful bass comes right at you, shaking the ground with its intensity. A real builder, the amazing lengths the producers have gone to are realised in full when you give this one your full attention. Feel the power of Time Slice as it unfolds around you, reminding you how all of the buzz about TR Tactics is perfectly justified. A seriously essential piece of music.

EATBRAIN channel a tale of a forgotten age through the unique minds of SEGMENT & CONCEPT VISION and their MAMMOTH EP. Featuring 4 precisely engineered cuts of audio that reach into the fraught and fractured core of existence and tear deep grooves into those who listen. VINTAGE opens the EP with luscious dub-driven pads and undulating tones that drop into a shifty and tight neurofunk banger, punctuated by pitched vocal stabs. RADIANT tears up the dance with a strobing and sweeping bassline, backed with a beautiful yearning melody and soft arpeggios. The title track of the EP MAMMOTH takes careful aim before striking a series of brutally syncopated blows, before HEIST takes down the rave in a flood of sirens leading to a stepper with an eminently catchy hook and deep, driving vibe.

The pathways of Yggdrasil flowed across the vast expanse of the cosmos, reaching to every corner of the universe - interlinking the many realms of their overlords and anchoring Midgard to its fate. The airborne servants of Odin encircled the earth, their ever-watchful synthetic eyes cast down at the servile humans below. So simple, without knowledge of their essential place in the greater sphere – the victims of relentless experimentation as their genes were cast and engineered, their greatest warriors brutally locked with primitive force against one another, as splice after splice refined their innermost nature into a limitless purity of violence. They gave up their eyes in the quest for real vision, gave up their souls to match the black pits of their sockets, twisted and contorted in an endless orgy of bloodshed until only the strongest remained. They who were blind to their humanity, stripped of virtue, naked against the vast heavens above, enshrouded in the entrails of their enemies. In the aftermath of each assault, under the watchful eyes of their offworld shepherds, they gathered their strength again and prepared for the next INVASION.

The DUB ELEMENTS duo return to the expansive EATBRAIN label in force, following up their 2 track pincer movement with ‘POW’ and ‘Shots Fired’ on the Mirror Universe compilation with their first full release - the INVASION EP. With a rich and heavy background in the dark arts of harder drum and bass, the five tracks within are designed with the pure intent of knocking the hell out of the rave. Featuring fellow Spanish producer and Eatbrain alumni KUNG for a sick frenetic beast of a track in SWITCHER, and the emerging capable talents of MANIATICS on the percussion-driven pointed assault of AUTOMATICS - the Invasion EP brings some truly delectable sonic talent to the table.
