Lost Souls is an ode to the struggles of today’s generation. The lyrics tell a story of a sinking ship that’s lost at sea. The captain and his crew ignore the warning signs, even denying that there’s a storm, and proceed to eat caviar as the passengers are resigned to their fate as the ship is torn apart.

Despite the nihilistic picture painted, the song also celebrates the unity of the passengers. Coming together and supporting one another even at their end. The song was recorded at Blank Studios with Sam Grant from Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs producing/mixing/mastering the track.

Recorded in 2021-2022 in Louisville, KY by Nick Roeder. Produced by Andrew Rinehart. Mixed by Nick Roeder and Andrew Rinehart, with guidance from Steve Albini. Drum programming & additional production by Matia Simovich at his Infinite Power Studios in Los Angeles.

Winlaton (win-lay-ton) is the third single released by the Ilfords since their 2022 rebirth.

Our David on Winlaton: 'Winlaton was written during deep lockdown. Nothing was open and late night running was the only space I had to myself. I suppose it reflects on what methods you can try to use when you feel lost. On one late night trek however, I realised I wasn’t just lost mentally at that time but geographically as I’d managed to run all the way to Winlaton.'
