Stepping in for this edition is Miguel Ghigo, a 24-year-old DJ and producer who has been shaping his journey for the past five years behind the decks and the last three experimenting in the studio. Still unreleased, Ghigo is focused on exploration over output, finding the sound that truly feels like his own. This podcast includes one of his unreleased productions, offering a raw glimpse into that ongoing process.

His story began early. At just 10 or 11 years old, Miguel was captivated by the cinematic soundscapes of Paul Kalkbrenner, a defining influence that first pulled him into the world of electronic music. That early spark evolved into a deeper commitment to the craft.

For Ghigo, success as a DJ hinges on three core skills: consistently digging for new music, refining technical ability, and reading the energy of the room. Adapting to the moment and the slot you're given is key. While he keeps an eye on trends through Instagram, his philosophy is clear. Being unique is what makes you stand out.

On the local front, he draws inspiration from Muski and Patient, both known for their drive and tight technique, and from Sean Rickett, who he admires for his versatility across styles.

What matters most to Ghigo is the connection with the crowd. That exchange of energy, the reaction, and the shared experience is the part that makes it all worth it.

Venezuela’s Confidential Recipe & Scottish artist Harvey McKay come back to Radio Slave’s techno-leaning RSPX offshoot with their first collaboration, the ‘Bad Man’ EP, arriving 18th July 2025. The release, drawing inspiration from the Chicagoan Dance Mania label, opens with the title track, a syncopated techno slammer driven by booming kicks, fizzing hi-hats, and up vocal chops. Fragmented samples and textured stabs inject raw energy, building tension before the drop hits hard.

Going second, ‘Move It’ is a relentless deep techno cut with rolling bass, sonar-like synth pulses, and jacked-up percussion, engineered for maximum effect on the dancefloor, already supported by Mark Broom, Tasha & Elisa Bee.
