We are proud to welcome back the young Ukrainian talent Alien Perfect... and this time with his debut EP for the label. 

He has been consistently crafting authentic, Bristol style funk from all the way out in the middle of Ukraine for a good while now and we have a slew of incredible flavours waiting to come your way. 

Firstly, the 'What's An Alien Perfect' EP, which was in fact titled by a quote from the man like Break, who said exactly these words while looking over the decks to try and get track IDs during our B2B set with him and Randall at XOYO earlier this year. After we had already drawn maybe 2 or 3 of his tracks during that same set... and all to great reactions, it became a very fair question indeed - What's an Alien Perfect? 

Well, now you can start to get to know a bit more about that. "This guy's really good!" 

'Dr. Drunkenstein' is a stepping, funk wobble monster with a strong and steady pulse. This one will get necks snappin'. 
Next we have the brooding 'Paranoia'. A serious roller and absolute master class in progressive percussion, warm bass and eerie vibes. "Paranoia is where we go to solve the problems of the mind". 
Continuing with the rollage but now into funk bass, jazz keys and horns. 'Shadow Vibe' will shuffle and wobble its way into your heart just like it has into every set we've played since we first got it! 
The last cut from this first batch of Alien Perfect's music is another one of our favourites and the title 'Utmost Finesse' pretty much sums it up really. Dreamy keys and great drum work, funk and simplicity done well. 

Not only is this guy really good... but he really, actually gets it! Which is kind of incredible when you consider not only his age, but also the fact that he lives where he does, so cut off and under such difficult times and circumstances. 

Alien Perfect has arrived. Watch the skies... more will come.

On March 15th, 2024, Duoscience, will release 'Forcing the Love', as part of his upcoming 'Beco' EP on his own Diskool Records imprint, which drops on March 22nd.

It all started in 2022, when Toronto’s Valiant Emcee took a year off from releasing music to write an album project. One of the producers that he approached was the prolific Brazilian liquid beatsmith Duoscience, who has spent the last fifteen years creating an expansive body of work on such labels as V Recordings, Fokuz, Soul Deep, Smooth and Groove, Liquid Drops, and his own Diskool Records, among many others. Upon receiving his instrumental, Valiant immediately sent it to iconic UK vocalist Collette Warren.

When he loaded up the vocal that she sent back, he was surprised at the picture that she painted, that of two people going through the motions of a relationship long after the love faded. To add dimension to Collette’s vocal scenario, he wrote two verses addressing the signs of a failed relationship that both members of the fictional couple had missed.

The next year, Valiant decided to take his album project in a different direction, forsaking conventional drum-n-bass appeal. Realizing that 'Forcing the Love' would no longer fit, he felt that it needed to be the highlight of a more dancefloor-friendly release. Duoscience agreed, and built the 'Beco' EP around it, adding dreamy instrumentals, 'Beco' and 'Leave'. Collectively, the EP has a distinct springtime feel. More restrained than summertime anthems, the warmth of the productions conjures images of rebirth and renewal, of which 'Forcing the Love' is lyrically a precursor. And, it’s no accident that the EP drops right when spring begins.
