Crazy World

I have recently come out of hospital having had an operation to remove a tangle / aneurysm from my brain called an AVM. It was all successful but spurred me on as a musician to finish an idea I had to to write my own album. This album I am calling Formula for Life.
 
It was during whilst in hospital that I read a scientific article called ‘Where Have All the Flowers Gone’ lamenting the declining bee population that I suddenly sat up and started to think about things. Whilst recovering I would take long walks in the country and the song idea came to me.
 
There are two versions of this poem - the other one is a rap version.

Where Have All The Flowers Gone?

A song I wrote after being diagnosed with prostate cancer and a brain condition / aneurysm called an AVM in November / December 2016. The AVM brain diagnosis was the result of me arguing with my doctor to send me for a brain scan which they were reluctant to do. They gave way in the end on the 23rd December 2017 I was told the bad news. 

The consultants gave me a formula to calculate the risk of having an operation or to do nothing. With a 60% risk of a possible bleed on the brain as opposed to a 7 - 9% risk of something going wrong in surgery I went through with radio surgery in summer of 2017.

This song is about putting together your own formula for life.
