The Empty Chalet

a sharp thorn
is stuck in my throat.
i’m dying to scream-
yet i keep the thorn intact.
for, once i got rid of it
and it made me bleed
on the surface, in the core,
pierced me deep for the fact.
now i treat the thorn
as a piece of my body-
something close to my soul,
and i so hate this act.
my breath is choked,
eyes bloodshot,
and my neck is bruised.
finally, my heart breaks the pact.
the world blurs out,
yet my vision is clear.
i pin the thorn harder-
and find home in the casket.
