Improv In the Bus Stop Stairwell

This is the 1st of a 4 song EP recorded by the MN band Dislocated in 2003 at Echo Bay Records in New Hope MN. We were a 5 piece and I was one of the guitarists. I wrote most of the guitar riffs on this recording, but each member completely crafted their own parts on top of those riffs. It was recorded over the course of 2 days, and I think if we had more money we could have spent more time capturing everybody's better performances. I do think however that we accomplished a lot in 2 days, and I view it as a fantastic learning experience as it was the first time I had ever been in a professional studio.

This page, Tears in the Garden, is full of shitty random personal recordings I've made since we did this EP. My life radically spun out of control since those days, and the recordings I have uploaded to this page are all reflective of that reality. I have used very bare bones recording methods as I have never really had much money, and I continue to learn how make them sound better.. but that does not mean any of them sound good to begin with. In my opinion, whatever is "good" is truly a relative and subjective notion to the experiencer of any experience. I guess if you listen to something and it moves somehow.. maybe that piece of music could be categorized as having value to you. I find not everything moves everyone in the same way, but I like that idea because it makes it a more personal experience. Hopefully listening to any of these recordings doesn't just make you want to turn them off. But if does, thank you for at least giving it a chance.

An old one take scratch track recording of drums and guitar from a MN based band called Dislocated who broke up in 2003. A piece concerning the drifting of friends and lovers, and the tears distance can cause.. a warning even, if nothing else, to keep in touch. Originally intended to recruit new musicians to a new project oddly.
