IT WAS DURING A DIMLY LIT SEANCE, held in the depths of a forgotten jazz club, that I found myself in the presence of her spirit. The air crackled with anticipation as we called upon the ghosts of the past, and in that moment, I felt a deep connection with the legendary blues singer.
    "Etta James, if you're out there, please join us," I beseeched, my voice quivering with reverence. The room fell into a hushed silence, and a soft whisper seemed to ride the coattails of a chilling breeze. The unmistakable essence of Ms. James permeated the air.
    Suddenly, a figure materialized before me, her shimmering form taking shape in the center of the room. It was Etta James herself, her eyes filled with a wisdom that only years of soulful living and heartache could bring. Her presence was both awe-inspiring and humbling.
    "Etta," I stammered, barely able to contain my excitement, "I've always dug your sound so much!"
    She regarded me with a hint of curiosity, a ghostly smile playing upon her spectral lips. "Well, ain't that somethin', darlin'. What brings you to summon me from the beyond?"
    With a mixture of nervousness and determination, I explained my musical vision. Trip hop, a genre born from the fusion of electronic beats and haunting melodies, had been echoing in my mind. I had always imagined Etta's timeless voice soaring above the atmospheric soundscape, infusing the music with her raw emotion and captivating presence.
    "I want to create a track that captures the essence of your voice, Etta," I said, my voice trembling with earnestness. "A collaboration that transcends time and genre."
    Etta studied me for a moment, her ethereal gaze piercing through the layers of my soul. I held my breath, awaiting her response. Then, a glimmer of appreciation danced in her eyes.
    "Well, honey, you've got yourself an intriguing proposition. I've sung my heart out on countless stages, but a trip hop track? Now that's something different," she said, her voice a velvety echo. "But why should I lend my voice to your music?"
    I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts. "Etta, your voice has a power that transcends generations. It carries the weight of experience, of heartache and triumph. Combining your soulful vocals with the ethereal beats of trip hop would create a sonic tapestry unlike anything the world has heard before."
     As she considered my words, her spectral form seeming to shimmer with newfound excitement. "You know, darlin', I've always been one to take risks. Maybe it's time I stepped into the unknown once more."
   A flicker of hope sparked within me as I realized she was open to the idea. 
    As the seance came to an end, and Etta prepared to return to the realm of the departed, she whispered, "Let the music be our bridge, connecting the worlds of the living and the dead. I'll see you in the notes, honey."
    And with those words, she faded away, leaving me with a sense of profound gratitude and a determination to bring our collaboration to life.

Intended as a recording project,the band  played live with  several line-ups  from 2006 until 2018.
 
The Music of BREEZE ist very variable,having a range from soft ballads to orchestral arrangements in epic compositions.
