Ćyan ID is the latest project from Giorgi Bekurashvili, a DJ, producer and live performer from Tbilisi. Giorgi has been a prominent fixture in Tbilisi's underground music scene from a young age, as a music fiend, and, as of 2022, a founder of the recording label HOUND. Having spent many years experimenting with varying sounds and projects within the city’s mercurial musical landscape, he launched the Ćyan ID project in 2019. Drawing from a wide array of influences from the ever evolving techno scene of the moody Georgian capital, Ćyan ID can be described as an unusual blend of EBM, wave, post-punk and aggravated techno. Its bold brew of mournful melodies, reverberating rhythms and destructive drums has been released on labels such as HOUND, DETRITI RECORDS, X-IMG, RAW, OSM TAPES, and SOIL.

Mary Yuzovzskaya's 'The More Your Know' EP is released via her vinyl-only label Monday Off in spring and is her first solo EP since 2022. The Berlin-based artist returns to her imprint following her tracks taking root on labels like Kvalia, Mnestic, and Semantica.

Up first on the record, 'Ittiologia' wriggles up in intensity with unbent drums and mysterious pads, building up to an unexplored alien soundscape marked by distant, otherworldly sonar pings. 'Micologia' follows, squelchy synths prattle amongst each other as rich bursts of low-end and splashes of 303 envelop the mind.

On the flip, 'Astrometria' reaches for the starry sky in full modular glory. Sequences bounce up and down as filtered synths woosh in the background before 'Oceanologia' dives into the abyss as the ideal closer. Its hypnotic bassline is accompanied by the foreboding sounds of the deep, rounding off yet another exemplary showcase of excellent sound design from Mary Yuzovskaya and her Monday Off label.

Here, any fleeting joy shatters against the rocks of reality, where each of us confronts the gloomy aspects of our existence and the eternal desire for escapism.

A two-hour session of self-reconnection will allow one to deeply feel forgotten and buried personal experiences, shattered self-belief, and self-denial. They constantly remind us that life is a series of mistakes that cannot be corrected and a series of losses that will live on in our memory.

This dark, tense mystical atmosphere and the whispering of unknown languages that speak incomprehensible messages to us easily evoke bouts of paranoia and the exacerbation of long-healed phobias, reflecting the same feelings that a person experiences during religious worship or deep personal tragedy.
