Loch Kelly, M.Div., LCSW is the author of Shift into Freedom: The Science and Practice of Open-Hearted Awareness. He is an educator, licensed psychotherapist and recognized leader in the field of nondual meditation who was asked to teach Sutra Mahamudra by Mingyur Rinpoche and nondual meditation by Adyashanti. Loch has worked in community mental health, established homeless shelters and counseled family members of 9/11. He is the founder of the non-profit Open-Hearted Awareness Institute. Each year during the month of February, Sharon Salzberg hosts her Real Happiness Meditation Challenge, based on her NY Times bestselling book, Real Happiness. Now in its seventh year, the Real Happiness Challenge hosts over 20,000 participants worldwide that have committed to sit and practice every day of the month of February. As part of this month of practice, weekly gatherings are being hosted by local meditation centers in New York City. Each week’s gathering is led by a different meditation teacher to offer a broad spectrum of resources for challenge participants. Gatherings are offered on a donation basis, and can be attended in person, or remotely via livestream. Each gathering includes a dharma talk on that coming week’s theme, guided meditation practice, and time for question and answer dialogue.
