As the great late Roger Scruton said: “I believe in beauty as a value as important as honesty and righteousness. I think we are losing beauty and with it, we risk losing the meaning of life”. - For me, this was a life changing articulation of a deeply held, instinctual belief so I decided to embarque on a journey of discovery. How can we articulate the value of beauty to make it accessible to younger generations and redress the loss of beauty that is all too prevalent in contemporary art and architecture? I started by looking into the abyss, studying modernism and the Bauhaus movement to discover the elements I felt were of value there, and there are many. I am yet to put my finger on it but my goal is to figure out where classical beauty in art and architecture and modernist values could converge in a contemporary setting. 

Most importantly, I feel that the articulation of beauty as a value in a way that the younger generations can connect with is of primary importance, I can’t stress this enough. Loss of meaning is an epidemic and lacking spirituality or beauty we turn self-destructive, it’s how we’ve got woke ideology and marksist social constructionists trying to tear down what our forebears in the west worked hard for, which is, a system that is mostly good, a miracle by the historical standard of civilisation. I feel we are deeply ungrateful and I think that partly stems from a lack of understanding of history and art and the evolution of the values of western civilisation since the renaissance all the way to what we enjoy today.
