Doctors told Pavar Snipe an arthritis diagnosis when she was a little girl would severely limit her – but thank God she didn’t listen. 

Now, she’s a writer and voice actress for the ABC hit show “When Nature Calls with Helen Mirren,” a comedian gaining attention from Saturday Night Live, an actress, and a former radio personality of a top-rated morning show in Norfolk, Virginia.

A 60-foot-high mountain made from an old trash dump is a treasure to me.

That big, beautiful mountain, surrounded by lakes, playgrounds, skate parks and a winding walking trail, is a source of joy for people far and wide. All at a place built on a pile of trash…

Items that were discarded, devalued, and done away with, were used as the foundation for a place that now inspires magical moments. And that’s just it... 

Mount Trashmore reminds me that we can take the piles of pain, regret and sorrow in your past… The ugly stuff we’d rather throw away… and use it all as the foundation for something beautiful…inspiring… magical.

Our trash can become treasure when we change our perspective.

We prayed about the best time to share it with all of you. Now, almost exactly a year later, I’m excited to reveal a show that has the power to change – and save – lives.

Welcome to the Decide to Live Podcast!  

I'm Jessica Larché, a morning news anchor in Norfolk, Virginia.  Like many of us, I've struggled with weight issues much of my life.  A few years ago, I was at a crossroads with my weight when I had a serious wakeup call. I was nearly 270 pounds at the age of 27, and diagnosed with high blood pressure. Doctors put me on medication, and I finally realized this wasn't just about a number on a scale or what size my dress was at the time.  I had to make a choice. Would I keep making decisions that would damn my health, or, would I decide to live?  By eating better, exercising more, going to therapy and leaning on God, I was able to shed 100 pounds. I decided to live!  A healthier lifestyle is an uphill decision every single day.  So, right here on "Decide to Live", I'll share what I'm learning along the way, and introduce you to friends on their own journeys to face the obstacles in their own lives.  We've all got something to grow through, right?
