For well over a decade, Bowen has etched his indelible mark upon techno ‘floors alongside DIMI in AnD infamy. In a relentless return to his hardware-centric roots, since late 2019 he’s marched to the beat of a different drummer and assumed the mantle of Slave To Society with absolutely zero signs of stopping.

Slave To Society drags you on a stygian cruise through rhythmical foliage that rattles the chains of the cyber-surreal concrete jungle. Veiled in the most plutonian, pale atmospheres, it promises a cascade of beats salted with Adderall that throttle and screw the amygdala central alarm system. An agitated beast of tight, tangled rhythms fires and rebounds in the chasmic echo chamber of performed and programmed doom rave dynamics, inviting the listener to consider the merits of ear protection. Dosed with an antivenom against the cut and dried brain rot, this mix bites with an auditory testimony — a call of the void that lingers in the corridors of the psyche well beyond the final echo's faintest hum.

The message: “Think for ourselves, create and move outside the realm of ordinary submission. Reject conformity; don't be a slave to society!”

It is a double vinyl album with 12 tracks plus 4 digital bonus tracks produced by Somatic Responses.

It is an album that perfectly represents the music of the brothers from Wales. In this double vinyl you will find tracks that go from IDM to breaks or glitches through the rave sound.

We will have Somatic Responses performing live on February 3rd at our venue in Valencia, "La Discoteca K&H Vinyl Store / Killing Time Club".

"Slave To Society (ex AnD) returns to Natural Selection with a white-hot experimental techno EP, accompanied by an IDM-infused remix from industrial electronica duo; Somatic Responses.

After a decade of redefining techno dance floors as AnD, Andrew Bowen returned to his experimental, hardware-focussed roots as Slave To Society in October 2019. Since then he has seen his music released by highly revered institutions in the world of hard techno, noise, breakcore, IDM and industrial electronica, such as PRSPCT, Pure Hate, Ohm Resistance and BANK Records NYC. Following on from his remix of Kamikaze Space Programme’s ‘Dust To Dust’, released on Natural Selection in 2022, Slave To Society releases his first full EP for the London based imprint. ‘Ai Invasion’ releases in April and takes up the torch from Versalife and Rommek, whose prior releases via Natural Selection saw support from the likes of Dave Clarke, Tommy Four Seven, Takaaki Itoh, The Advent, Annie Hall, Alienata and more.

‘Ai Invasion’ is a sonic exploration of the symbiotic relationship between humanity and technology. Slave To Society uses carefully designed futuristic soundscapes and atmospheric textures, layered with AI generated vocals, combined with heavy and fiercely unpredictable drum elements. Expect advanced, experimental hard techno and noise, fused with powerful low-end muscle, raging hi-hats, fragmented percussion and augmented amens. In true Slave To Society fashion, all rules and boundaries are smashed to pieces and all tracks are equally suitable for blasting through the world’s biggest club systems and rigs as they are for home listening.

The release also features a razor sharp and well-placed remix of track B1 - ‘Robot Dementia’, courtesy of legendary hard industrial electronica duo; Somatic Responses.

‘Ai Invasion’ comes in the form of a complete multimedia project and features an immersive digital video which will be screened, exhibited and premiered as part of the release. Available to purchase and download as an NFT, the video challenges viewers to question the impact of artificial intelligence on our society and the implications of our relentless pursuit of technological advancement."
