Nick is joined by broadcaster and journalist Lydia Hislop, NBC Sports host Laffit Pincay III and TRC Rankings architect James Willoughby to look at the key storylines and likeliest winners of this weekend's classics on both sides of the Atlantic. 
Nick also talks to 'Mattress Mack' McIngvale, the Texan bedding magnate looking to stake one of the largest ever wagers on the Kentucky Derby, while QIPCO spokesman David Redvers looks forward to the 10th anniversary of the Guineas sponsorship, but expresses dismay at the sport's social media boycott.

We begin the show today with a report from Equidia and Sky Sports Racing's French correspondent Katherine Ford on the developments in the case of Pierre Charles Boudot, the French Champion jockey who has been charged with rape. Subsequently, Nick is joined by RTE and Racing TV broadcaster Jane Mangan to discuss all the day's racing news, including a review of yesterday's action from York, a preview of the Dante Stakes, a look ahead to this weekend's French Classics and the Lockinge Stakes, in which Palace Pier heads the market. His trainer John Gosden joins Nick on the show and also discusses the fallout from the Kentucky Derby and Median Spirit's positive drug test.

Ep 224 - French champion jockey rape charge; licence suspended

Nick is joined by broadcaster and journalist Lydia Hislop to discuss the day's racing news on the eve of one of the world's most prestigious fixtures. Senior trainer Jim Bolger, responsible for one of the key 2,000 Guineas fancies Poetic Flare, reiterated his claims of illegal steroid use in racehorses over the weekend, and speaks to Nick in his first major broadcast interview on the subject. Later in this episode, Nick and Lydia preview some of the key Ascot races, while Nick talks to Nicola Currie - armed with good rides on two star two year olds - and Jamie Hart gives the lowdown on worldpool at this year's meeting.

Originally I just wanted to make five minutes of interchanching deep pad and noisy something, with a lot of non-silent space between them. I added some ambient field recordings in these spaces, because the name of the track was intended to be 'The Impossibility of Being Silent'.

But then my mi clouds produced some sounds of it's own and I liked it. At the end I had to reintroduce silence to all parts. All in all I hope this to be considered as a tentative approach to silence, with an increase towards the end.
