Ep 374 - Dunne found guilty; penalties to follow

Horse racing news has been dominated over the last couple of weeks by Robbie Dunne's hearing, who we learnt yesterday has been found guilty on four of the seven counts brought against him for the bullying and harassment of fellow jockey, Bryony Frost. Lydia Hislop joins Nick to talk through the case, the 18-month ban handed out by the BHA and also the industry's immediate reaction.

Nick looks ahead to racing at this weekend's Honk Kong International meeting with JA McGrath well as looking at each of the main races with James Willoughby as he takes Nick through the highest TRC ranked horses in each race and explains who the rankings predict will come out on top.

Ep. 375 - Dunne Gets 18 Months; PJA Hits Back

Nick is joined by David Yates, Newsboy of the Daily Mirror, to discuss the latest news and events from around the racing world. Once again, it is hard to keep the ongoing Bryony Frost story away from the lead, as the rider has opened up in a significant interview in The Sun newspaper, her first since the conclusion of the Robbie Dunne hearing last week. As yesterday, there is another major prize money announcement from a British racecourse, this time Ascot, who announce bold plans for the Royal meeting, the Shergar Cup and more via their Director of Racing and Public Affairs Nick Smith. Smith also shares his thoughts on navigating the next stages of the pandemic. Later in this edition, Nick catches up with veteran journalist Geoff Lester, who has recently published his memoir, The Time of my Life.

The are joined by Rachael Blackmore who drops in from Manchester airport, much as she did last night when adding the BBC World Sports Star award to an already huge list of accolades and achievements in 2021. With the promise of more to come over the festive period, Nick and Jane consider what to expect from Rachael's mounts  Minella Indo and A Plus Tard in the King George and Savills Chase respectively, while Jane also expresses strong views on the next steps for Long walk hurdle hero Champ, is firmly in the Jonbon fan club and considers the immediate future of Oisin Murphy after his disciplinary issues that we documented before the weekend. Sky Sports presenter Josh Apiafi also joins the show to discuss the new Racing Media Academy.
